Ryan Seacrest Ryan Seacrest is a popular radio and television presenter best known for his appearances on American Idol. Born in Georgia in 1974, he started out in local radio before moving to Los Angeles to pursue his career there. He hosted a radio show in California from 1995 to 2003. Seacrest has presented many different shows over the years and audiences have warmed to his charisma and comic one-liners. One of his earlier jobs as a TV host was for Gladiators 2000. Actually broadcast in 1994, it was the junior version of the popular American Gladiators. Seacrest went on to co-host the game show The Click, with Amber Bonasso. One of the most popular reality shows is American Idol: The Search for a Superstar, and Seacrest
has enjoyed being the host of the highly successful show from 2002 to 2007. Fans of the suspenseful series love to tune in to hear the verdict of the judges, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson. Seacrest had a co-host in the beginning, named Brian Dunkleman, but soon became the sole presenter. Television shows are always keen to include Seacrest, and he appeared in an episode of the show, Player$. Other guests included Vanessa Lengies, Kristin McQuaid, and Sean Paul. In 2003, Seacrest hosted an edition of the entertainment news program, Good Day Live. Other guest hosts have included Paula Abdul, Henry Winkler, Randy Jackson, Doris Roberts, and Melissa Gilbert. Seacrest started his own TV series in 2004, with On-Air with Ryan Seacrest. His guests have included high profile personalities such as Donald Trump and Christina Aguilera. He took part the following year in Rhythm City Volume One: Caught Up. Usher, Diddy, and Naomi Campbell also made guest appearances.
A fundraiser was organized and televised in which Seacrest was happy to be involved. Tsunami Aid: A Concert for Hope featured a long list of celebrities, including Drew Barrymore, Eric Clapton, George Clooney, Matt Damon, and Johnny Depp. Seacrest also hosted the Celebration of Freedom concert in Washington DC for President George W Bush and the United States armed forces. New Year’s Eve shows are eagerly sought after and Seacrest got the chance to co-host New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2006 with the popular Dick Clark. Hilary Duff also presented and performances were given by Mariah Carey and Sean Paul.
