Samantha Fox Biography From topless shots to the top of the pop charts, Samantha Fox was born on April 15, 1966, in Mile End, London, England, to a family of market traders. Growing up, Fox had an interest in acting; and appeared on stage for the first time at the young age of three. At age five, she was enrolled in the Anna Scher Theatre School, and at age ten, made her first television appearance in a BBC play called No Way Out. In addition to acting, Fox was also interested in music from a young age, and formed a band at age fourteen. Just one year later, a teenage Fox landed a record deal with Lamborghini records; however, it would be modeling that propelled Fox into the spotlight.
When she was sixteen years old, topless photos of Fox were submitted to The Sunday People newspaper's Face and Shape of '83 contest. At this time, the laws in Britain allowed topless photos of women at least sixteen years of age; and Fox’s photos were taken by, of all people, her mother. Fox did not win the competition, but her photos were published in the newspaper, leading to a modeling contract. Fox continued to appear on Page 3, winning the Sun's Page 3 Girl of the Year award repeatedly. In 1983, she insured her breasts for 250,000 pounds, and at the ripe old age of twenty, Fox retired from Page 3 modeling. For the rest of the 80s, Fox worked on her career as a pop singer, singing such Top 10 hits as “Touch Me Naughty Girls (Need Love Too)” and “Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now.” In 1991, Fox released her come-back album, Just One Night, and continued to release greatest hits compilations and dance tunes into the late 90s. More recently, Fox was featured in a music video with Swedish music artist Günther, who covered Fox’s hit song, “Touch Me.” On the small-screen, Fox has hosted awards shows and also appeared in the sitcom Charles In Charge starring Scott Baio. In 1994, Fox was invited to play at Christian music festival Greenbelt, amidst reports that she had become a born-again Christian. When asked how she could reconcile her Christian morals with nude modeling, Fox replied: "Easily. God gave me my body. I know it has made many people happy. There is no conflict there. I don't and have never promoted pornography. I'm not a born-again Christian because I have always been one. I am doing what God wants me to do. My prayer each night is: ‘Let me go my way and make people happy. Let me do the right thing’."
Fox has previously been in a relationship with KISS guitarist, Paul Stanley. However, in 1999, Fox judged a lesbian beauty pageant, leading to speculation that her manager at the time, with whom she also lived, was also her partner. In February of 2003, Fox publicly opened up about her sexual orientation, stating "It's time to let people know where my heart is. People keep trying to say I'm a lesbian. I don't know what I am. All I know is that I'm in love with Myra [her manager]. I love her completely and want to spend the rest of my life with her."
