Sarah Jessica Parker Biography This professionally trained singer and dancer struggled for years before co-starring on one of television’s most popular series. Parker’s real life persona is much different than her character, the sexy, stylish, love-seeking writer, Carrie Bradshaw. She is a devoted wife and mother and is also involved with charity work as a UNICEF representative. Sarah Jessica Parker was born on March 25, 1965, in Nelsonville, Ohio. As a result of her professional performing, training at both the American Ballet School and The Professional Children’s School, she appeared at a young age in Broadway productions such as The Sound of Music and Annie. After high school, Parker chose to pursue acting full-time instead of attending college. In the years following graduation, Parker made appearances in several television and big-screen movies such as Footloose and The First Wives Club. While trying to break into film, she could also be seen in Broadway productions like Sylvia and Once Upon a Mattress. After years of small, relatively unknown appearances, Sarah would finally make it big with her Golden Globe-winning role on the HBO series Sex and the City, which also featured actress Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon. Parker’s character was New York columnist Carrie Bradshaw, and the show was ground-breaking because of its frank discussion of sexual topics previously considered too taboo for television. For this foursome of women, nothing seemed off limits. The series ran for an impressive six seasons.
Since Sex and the City ended in 2004, Parker has had a multi-million dollar contract with Gap, the popular clothing line and has recently released her signature fragrance, Lovely. She co-starred with the gorgeous Matthew McConaughey in the romantic comedy Failure to Launch and appeared in the movie Vacancy and Slammer. Prior to settling down with her husband, Sarah was romantically involved with several high-profile men. In 1984, Parker moved in with love interest Robert Downey Jr., an actor whose frequent arrests for drug possession and drunk driving were a popular media topic. Parker and Downey’s relationship lasted for seven years, ending in 1991. She then went on to have a relationship with the late John F Kennedy Jr., the son of the former American president John F Kennedy. Parker married actor Matthew Broderick in May of 1997. Broderick, like Jessica, has acted in several Broadway productions and has appeared in the movies Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Stepford Wives and the recently-released, critically-acclaimed film The Producers. The couple reside in New York City with their son, James Wilke Broderick, who was born in 2002.
During the period of time that Sarah was out of town filming SACT, the movie, Broderick was rumoured to have become involved with a 25 year old woman whom he had met in Manhattan. The relationship became commong knowledge and Sarah conceaded that their marriage was more one of convenience for their son, than one of deep love for each other. Then in late April 2009, the New York based couple surprised fans when they announced that they were awaiting the arrival of twin baby girls in summer of that year, by a surrogate mother. By June 22 2009 Sarah's surrogate delivered the twin daughters in Martin's Ferry, Ohio and were named Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge.
