Scarlett Marie Johansson was born on November 22^nd, 1984 in New York, New York. She attended the Professional Children’s School in Manhattan and graduated in 2002. While still in her teenage years, Johansson starred in the 1996 film Manny and Lo, and also had a role in the critically acclaimed film The Horse Whisperer.  

After being rejected from the New York University Tisch School of the Arts, Scarlett decided to pursue acting on a full time basis. It would be a wise decision, one resulting in an amazing four Golden Globe nominations in less then three years. Johansson co-starred with super-star Bill Murray in the 2003 comedy Lost in Translation, which was nominated for four Academy Awards, including Scarlett’s nod for Best Actress. Her dramatic role in the film adaptation of the novel Girl With a Pearl Earring earned her a second chance at the Award for Best Actress.

Although A Love Song for Bobby Long was met with lukewarm reception by movie-goers, Johansson’s performances was praised by critics, earning her another nod from the prestigious Academy. Match Point, directed by the legendary Woody Allen, would result in an amazing fourth nomination for Scarlett, this time for Best Supporting Actress. When not acting, this versatile star may also be seen in Calvin Klein advertisements, modeling for Louis Vuitton, or working as a spokesperson for L’Oreal. Known for being proud of her body, this actress posed nude, along with actress Keira Knightley, on a 2006 issue of Vanity Fair.

She has several upcoming movies in the works, including The Nanny Diaries and Amazon.
