Scott Baio

In Scott Baio’s career, this actor has managed to star in several successful sitcoms, making him one of the biggest teen idols of the 1980s. Aside from his film career, he is probably best-known for his long list of relationships with some of Hollywood’s most beautiful women.
Scott Baio was born on September 22nd, 1961 in Brooklyn, New York. Deciding at the young age of nine that he wanted to pursue acting, he appeared in commercials as a child thanks to the support of his parents.

In 1976, he starred in Bugsy Malone, a quirky movie which featured a cast of child gangsters. It was his role as Chachi the cousin of Fonzi, played by Henry Winkler, on the long-running series Happy Days, however, that truly made Baio a star. Happy Days also included well known actors such as, Marion Ross, Ron Howard and Tom Bosley.

He played the wise-cracking tough guy from 1977 to 1984, and his portrayal earned him a Young Artists Award in the category of Best Young Comedian. Aside from his Happy Days role, Baio appeared in the films Skatetown USA and Zapped, and also starred in the sitcoms Blansky’s Beauties, Who’s Watching the Kids, and Joanie Loves Chachi. None of these sitcoms were long-running successes, but Baio cemented his place as one of Hollywood’s biggest teen heartthrobs. During this time, Scott also starred in several after school specials such as The Boy Who Drank Too Much and Stoned, which resulted in an Emmy nomination, as well as a second Young Artists Award, this time for Best Young Actor in a Television Special.

At the height of his popularity, Scott also had a brief music career. He released two albums with RCA records, featuring the singles Wanted For Love, Some Girls, and She’s Trouble.
After Happy Days ended its decade-long stint in 1984, Baio took on the starring role in yet another comedy series. His role as a college student caring for three children in Charles in Charge lasted an impressive five seasons, with its last episode being aired in 1990. Since the end of his Charles in Charge, Scott has continued to work, although he has not achieved the success of his early years.

His starring roles have included those in Baby Talk and Diagnosis Murder, and he has also been a guest star on the series Veronica’s Closet and Arrested Development. Baio’s directing credits include The Wayans Bros and Unhappily Ever After, both released in 1995.
Aside from his signature roles, Scott is probably best known as one of Hollywood’s biggest playboys. His temporary girlfriends have included blond bombshell Pamela Anderson, Nicole Eggert (Baio’s Charles in Charge co-star), Desparate Housewives star Nicolette Sheridan, actress Brooke Shields, Denise Richards, and Heather Locklear, among numerous others.

Perhaps his most serious relationship before his current one was with Anderson. The couple were engaged twice but never quite made it to the altar. Baio’s smooth ways with women led to him being inducted into The Man Show Hall of Fame in 1999. Shortly before his fortieth birthday, Scott announced that he and his girlfriend Jeanette Ulrika Jonsson, who he began dating in 1999, were engaged to be married in 2005. Although the details of their wedding didn’t make the tabloid covers, it is assumed they are still together. Baio currently resides in Southern California.
