Selena Gomez Biography American actress Selena Gomez may be young, but she has already racked up an impressive résumé. She got her start with a long-running stint on Barney & Friends, after which she landed many bit parts. In 2007, she finally took the lead in her own televised series, Wizards of Waverly Place. She is also noted for her singing career.
Selena Gomez was born July 22, 1992 in New York City, New York. She was subsequently raised in Grand Prairie, Texas. She is of Mexican heritage. Getting her start from very early on, she made her onscreen debut in Barney & Friends as Gianna. She shared the screen with David Joyner (the man behind the purple dinosaur), Emilio Mazur, Camille Goldstein, Hunter Pecunia, and others. She made her film debut in 2003’s Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over. Gomez earned her big break, however, when she was twelve years old. At that time, she entered a nationwide talent search through Disney.
