Shar Jackson

Actress Shar Jackson was born Sharisse Jackson on September 4, 1976, in Boston, Massachusetts, to parents of both African American, Native American, and Latin ancestry. At just three years old, Jackson enrolled in the Al Fann Theatrical Ensemble. While attending private school, Jackson began modeling with various agencies, including Ubiquitous, John Robert Powers, and Barbizon agencies. Jackson eventually decided to set aside modeling and focus exclusively on her acting career, studying under the tutelage of Bob Feldman, father of 1980s actor, Corey Feldman. 

Jackson got her start on the small-screen in television commercials and various series, including Roc in 1991, My So-Called Life in 1994, Hangin' with Mr. Cooper in 1992, and The Steve Harvey Show in 1996. Her first film role came in the 1997 Nickelodeon movie Good Burger, featuring Carmen Electra and Shaquille O'Neal. However, Jackson is best known for playing Niecy Jackson on the UPN sitcom from the 90s, Moesha, starring singer-turned-actress, Brandy Norwood. Although their characters were good friends on the show, Jackson and Norwood did not get along off-screen.

At just fifteen years old, Jackson and her high school boyfriend became parents to a son, Donnie, followed four years later by a daughter. In 2002, Jackson and her then boyfriend, dancer-turned-rapper, Kevin Federline, had a daughter, Kori, followed by son, Kaleb, two years later. Jackson gained national attention in 2004 when Fedelline left then-pregnant Shar for pop singer, Britney Spears. Spears allegedly approached him in a nightclub, and a romance quickly ensued. Public interest in Federline’s personal life soon developed, leading to various television appearances and interviews for Jackson, which continued through to 2006, when Federline and Spears eventually called it quits. Jackson and Federline are reported to currently have an amicable relationship, and Federline spent Thanksgiving 2006 with Jackson and their children.

Jackson is currently recording an album which will be released on the Los Angeles Indie label, Long Live Crime Records. She has also recorded a cover to Britney Spears’s Grammy award winning song, "Toxic," available on the Internet. It is not Jackson’s first foray into music; she previously formed pop and R&B group Mpulz, who were featured on the soundtrack to the film The Princess Diaries in 2001, starring Anne Hathaway.

In 2005, Jackson founded the S.H.A.R foundation, an acronym for "Sharing, Helping, and Reconciling." The foundation aims to help people develop their negative life experiences into positive ones through instilled strength and positivity.

Jackson, who is a film buff and particularly enjoys horror movies, has recently been romantically linked to Kill Bill film director, Quentin Tarantino.
