Sophia Bush

American actress and perennial teen favorite, Sophia Bush is most known for her longtime role as Brooke Davis on the popular drama One Tree Hill. She also impressed fans and critics with her breakout role in the horror remake of The Hitcher.

Sophia Anna Bush was born July 8, 1982 in Pasadena, California. She is the only child of successful celebrity photographer Charles William Bush and studio manager Maureen Bush. Attending Westridge School for Girls followed by the University of Southern California, Bush was not bitten by the acting bug until well into her college career.

Earning her onscreen debut in 2002 with the teen comedy Van Wilder beside leads Ryan Reynolds and Tara Reid, Bush also worked on the 2002 crime drama Point of Origin with Ray Liotta, John Leguizamo, and Illeana Douglas.

It was in 2003, however, that Bush earned her most noteworthy role. Cast as a series regular in the drama One Tree Hill, Bush landed the role of Brooke Davis beside other cast leads James Lafferty, Chad Michael Murray, Hilarie Burton, Bethany Joy Galeotti, Paul Johansson, and Moira Kelly. The show proved a success, and Bush was quickly made into a household name.

Supplementing her résumé, Bush guest starred on the television series Sabrina, the Teenage Witch with Melissa Joan Hart and Caroline Rhea as well as serving a three-episode stint on Nip/Tuck with Julian McMahon, Joely Richardson, and Kelly Carlson.

In the film arena, she took a substantial supporting role in 2003’s Learning Curves followed by the widely panned Supercross. Entering scream queen territory, Bush costarred with Samaire Armstrong, Frankie Muniz, Adam Goldberg, and Milo Ventimiglia in the 2006 horror Stay Alive.

Continuing in that vein, Bush earned her largest film recognition in 2007 with The Hitcher. In the film, she and onscreen boyfriend (Zachary Knighton) are terrorized by psychopath John Ryder (Sean Bean), learning the hard way they should never pick up strangers.

She gained even more recognition when she signed on to the teen comedy John Tucker Must Die. Leading an all star cast, Bush worked with teen icons Jesse Metcalfe, Brittany Snow, Ashanti, Arielle Kebbel, and Jenny McCarthy.

She is currently in post-production for a film entitled The Narrows. Due for a 2008 release, Bush will share the screen with Kevin Zegers, Vincent DOnofrio, and Eddie Cahill.

An obvious favorite among the teen demographic, Bush was nominated in 2005 and 2006 for a Teen Choice Award in recognition of her work with One Tree Hill. In 2007, she took home three such awards. She won for best actress in a comedy, best actress in a horror/thriller, and she was named the breakout female of the year.

In her personal life, Bush dated One Tree Hill costar Michael Murray for several years before the two finally tied the knot on April 16, 2005. Shocking fans, however, the two announced they were separating just five months later. Amid rumors of Michael Murray’s infidelity, their divorce became final in late 2006.

Most recently, she has been romantically linked to Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
