Tommy Lee

Whether he is more famous for being a member of Motley Crue’s band or for actually having the biggest member in the band is debatable, but either way Tommy Lee is definitely a handful. Thomas Lee Bass was born on October 3, 1962, in Athens, Greece, into an eclectic family. His mother was former Miss Greece in 1957 and his father was an American-Welsh soldier, so their son was bound to be something special. So, they did what every other couple would do when they have a star-bound son, and moved to California when he was one year old.

Tommy Lee began his musical career at the early age of four on a classic set of homemade cardboard boxes. Never the book worm, Tommy Lee would later drop out of high school to fully pursue his music career with his band Suite 19. During the early 1980s, Tommy Lee and his band played the local clubs on Sunset Strip to make a name for themselves in Los Angeles. He eventually met Nikki Sixx who talked him into ditching Suite 19 to make moves with a new band they would call Motley Crue. Together, Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, and Vince Neil built their fan base and quickly rode the rock ‘n’ roll rollercoaster to stardom.

Not too lucky as a husband but known as a hopeless romantic, Tommy Lee has had his share of heartbreak and divorce. In 1984, he married and divorced a former stripper, Elaine Starchuk, within just a few months. Two years later, he swept Heather Locklear (who appeared, sexy but clothed, in Playboy in 1994) off of her feet and exchanged nuptials that lasted until he made his porn star debut with Debi Diamond in 1993, thanks to director Ron Jeremy. Only two years after his divorce from Heather Locklear, he took his most legendary vows to Playboy supermodel Pamela Anderson on a beach in Cancun, Mexico after aggressively wooing her for four days. Together, they gave birth to two sons named Brandon Thomas and Dylan Jaggar. In 1997, Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee made headline history as their home-grown porn tape was stolen and broadcasted over the internet. They later profited off of this scandal after courts ruled in their favor, awarding sex-tape profits to them. Due to the sex-tape scandal, Tommy Lee became well-known for being well-endowed while on the Howard Stern Show. In 1998, Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson divorced while he served his prison sentence for spousal abuse. During the same time, he split from Motley Crue to take a new direction in life. Tommy Lee wasted no time in linking up with new artists to form rap metal group, Methods of Mayhem.

Tommy Lee has worked with an arsenal of artists, crossing every music genre, including Nine Inch Nails, Rob Zombie, Missy Misdemeanor Elliott, Incubus, and The Deftones. He reunited with Motley Crue in 2004 and launched a worldwide tour that brought in the bank roll. Tommy Lee took a stab at television on his own NBC reality show, Tommy Lee Goes to College and released his solo album titled Tommyland in 2004. Tommy Lee’s new band, called Supernova, includes members Gilby Clark of Guns-N-Roses, Jason Newsted of Metallica, and an unknown lead singer to be chosen on the new Rock Star reality show.
