Ulrika Jonsson Biography Known many years ago as the pretty blonde weather girl on the ITV’s GMTV morning show, Ulrika Jonsson aspired to greater heights than just predicting the next downfall of rain, but predicting her own trouble future would probably have had her running for the cover of an umbrella. Ulrika Jonsson was born 16th August 1967 in Sollentuna, Swedish and at the age of eight, following her parent’s divorce in 1975, Ulrika spent the remainder of her childhood living with her father in Sweden while her mother moved to Holland. When Ulrika was 12 years old she moved to England and Jonsson moved to England and attended Burnham Grammar School in Buckinghamshire and continued her education at St Aldate's Secretarial college in Oxford. With a multi-cultural upbringing it was inevitable that Ulrika would soon acquire the ability to speak more than just her native tongue and in fact also mastered English, French, and German, all of which she speaks fluently. Early on in her TV career it was revealed that Ulrika had been sexually assaulted by a predominant TV presenter and years later she revealed the incident in her autobiography but never declared the man’s name. However, Matthew Wright did reveal the name as being children’s TV presenter, John Leslie as the alleged perpetrator. Police investigated Leslie but never charged him regarding the case but Leslie’s TV career was ruined. For sometime Jonsson worked as a secretary until her TV career began on TV-am in 1989 where she worked as a weather forecaster while at the same time also working as the weather forecaster for Swedish TV3. She worked alongside Eamonn Holmes and Fiona Phillips. Establishing herself as a personality while reading the weather and interacting with the other members of the cast, by 1992 Ulrika moved into mainstream presenting and played host to numerous shows including Gladiators, the Big Breakfast, The National Lottery - plus two major international broadcasts in 1998, the Eurovision Song Contest and Miss World.
Ulrika embarked on her first marriage in 1990 to TV cameraman Johnny Turnbull, and a few years later after having an affair with Gladiators cameraman Phil Piotrowsky she parted from Turnbull but later returned and had her first baby, a boy, Cameron. Ulrika’s marriage ended in 1992 and between marriages she had a relationship with footballer Stan Collymore and in 1998 she revealed that the relationship had been fraught with physical abuse and Jonsson later took out an injunction preventing Collymore from releasing a sex tape involving the two, apparently made while they were on holiday in Cyprus - the video was later destroyed by Collymore. Ulrika’s next relationship was with James Crossley who was better known as one of the Gladiators, Hunter. From 2001 through till 2003 Ulrika presented the game show Dog Eat Dog from 2001 through till 2003 Ulrika presented the game show Dog Eat Dog, this time with the BBC. In 2002 Ulrika hit the headlines when she had an affair with fellow Swede Goren Eriksson, who at the time was with his long term girlfriend Nancy Dell’Olio and was the manager of the England football team. On 20th January 2007 Ulrika joined 10 other celebrities to take part in the ITV reality TV show Dancing On Ice, where Britain's best-known ice-skating duo Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean help to train the aspiring dancers. Ulrika was partnered with Pavel Aubrecht and competed against the likes of Stephen Gately and Emily Symons. Once again in 2002 Ulrika met her next husband while filming the reality show Mr Right. The game was to find a contestant, Lance Gerrard Wright a partner but he eventually turned down the winning lady in favour of Ulrika. The couple married in October 2003 and by October 2005 they had filed for divorce. Ulrika has a total of three children from the three men in her life.
