Wallace Langham Bio
Wallace Langham

Wallace Langham, an American actor probably best known for his most recent role as self-absorbed lab technician on the CBS hit CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, was once charged with one account of misdemeanor battery and one count of committing a hate crime.

The incident happened on September 7, 1999 when a 35-year-old gay tabloid reporter accused the actor of beating him and shouting homosexual slurs at him after the reporter allegedly made insulting comments about the tattoos of Wallace’s girlfriend at the time.

Wallace denied making any slurs saying that he is a supporter of gay rights. The incident -- which happened while Wallace was playing Josh, Kirstie Alley's sexually ambivalent assistant, on the NBC sitcom Veronica’s Closet -- was reported resolved with a six-figure settlement on January 6, 2000.

Wallace was born on March 11, 1965 in Fort Worth, Texas. Throughout his career he has appeared as a character actor in numerous television shows.

He got his first big acting break as Art in John Hughes’ 1985 movie Weird Science. He received credit for his role under the name of Wally Ward.

While on the set of Weird Science, Wallace met his future wife, Laura. The two were married in 1986 and divorced in 1998. They have two children together: a son Alex, born in 1989 and a daughter Chloe, born in 1991.

In 1986 Wallace appeared in the television movie, Combat High, with Keith Gordon. He later went on to star in Keith Gordon’s first film, The Chocolate War, in 1988. The same year he starred in the comedy sci-fi movie, The Invisible Kid.

During the 1990s Wallace shifted his acting talents toward more adult roles. From 1990 to 1991 he played news intern Willis Teitelbaum on the short-lived CBS drama, WIOU. Beginning in 1992 he took on the role of Phil in HBO’s sitcom The Larry Sanders Show. Wallace played the role of the cynical head writer for insecure and vain talk show host, Garry Shandling, until the show ended in 1998.

Wallace has also guest-starred on several television shows including Grace Under Fire, Star Trek: Voyager, The Outer Limits, The Twilight Zone, Medium, Sex and the City, Murder She Wrote, ER, Newsradio, and Murphy Brown.

In 1999 he narrated the voice of Andy French, the lead character in the animated series Mission Hill that lasted until 2002. In 2001 he starred opposite Diane Keaton in the television drama, Sister Mary Explains It All. In 2003 he played Jim Fields in the comedy Daddy Daycare starring Eddie Murphy.

Wallace married his second wife, flamenco artist Karey Richard, on November 3, 2002. He currently lives in Los Angeles and enjoys basketball, surfing, swimming, and bowling in his spare time.
