Catherine Zeta Jones Puts Comfort Ahead of Fashion!

With little else to attack the 40 year old Welsh beauty, the paps are after beating up Catherine Zeta Jones with the fashion faux pas stick as she is once again spotted out and about in a style that perhaps wouldn’t be to everyone’s taste!

But, as the wife of Hollywood legend, Michael Douglas, 65, takes to the streets of New York, it’s obvious that her warmth and comfort are more important to the Intolerable Cruelty actress, than resembling a red carpet diva.

Wearing a brown suede baggy jacket, a heavily patterned sweater and brown boots, Mrs Douglas still managed to look beautiful from the neck up!

With a glowing complexion, a well groomed hair style and confident gate, Catherine appeared to give little importance to what the snapper would think of her own interpretaion of this winter’s fashions.

But, putting aside Catherine’s style, she still manages to catch the attention of a the Tony award winning director, Tony Nunn as he engages the Hollywood star for his Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's A Little Night Music. She'll also be appearing in The Rebound, a big screen romantic comedy.

It's A Skunky Look For The Edgier Rihanna

Its not a new idea, the hairdo created by having part of the hair bleached blonde or white on top and leaving the under portion of the hair black. But who really wants to resemble a skunk?

Well evidently Barbados born song bird Rihanna does as she struts the streets of New York with her stinky new look!

With the harsh, skunk like stripes, coupled with the slick back gel look, the 21 year old couldn’t look further from the feminine little lady we first saw back in 2005, if she was dressed in a boiler suit, hob nail boots and sat astride a Harley Davidson!

Although the look is considered stylish, executed in this manner it looks totally severe and not remotely a style that any young man would feel the need to run his fingers through!

But since Rihanna’s recent problems following the assault she sustained at the hands of ex boyfriend Chris Brown, her latest image reflects her hardening attitude. Along with her appearance, Rihanna’s musical mood has been influenced by her experience too, as seen in her new album and suggested by Ne-Yo who told E! Online, 'Expect an edgier, almost angrier Rihanna on this one. Rihanna says some things on this album that you've never heard her say before.'

Rihanna’s new album, which is as yet untitled and is due for release on November 23rd, saw her becoming close to ex N-Sync singer, Justin Timberlake after the two worked together on her new album, sparking rumours of the Bringing Sexy Back singer’s split with his girlfriend Jessica Biel.

Carla Bruni's Beauty Competion With the World's First Ladies!

In these days of economic hardships and world wide financial and terrorist issues, it seems somewhat pathetic that the French prime minister’s wife Carla Bruni should launch a new website devoted to her own self promotion and vanity.

But as fast as the website launched, it crashed!

The site, when viewable is a lavish tribute to Carla Bruni Sarkozy and the work she does as France’s first lady.

But beyond a few words on her ‘work’ evidently Carla has used the site to comment on what she sees as a ‘beauty contest’ between her and several other first ladies from around the world.

In her ramblings Carla mentions, Sarah Brown, wife of the UK’s prime minister, Gordon Brown, Princess Letizia of Spain and strangely enough, in the same sentence as ‘beauty contest’ she mentions with wife of America’s president Barack Obama, Michelle Obama.

But just where the competition comes in to being between Carla and Obama is a total mystery! According to Vanity Fair Michelle Obama is one of the world’s ten best-dressed women. Oh please, we have eyes!

The 41 year old Bruni was, in a previous life, a model, having worked for designers and fashion houses such as Christian Dior, Givenchy, Paco Rabanne, Sonia Rykiel, Christian Lacroix, Karl Lagerfeld, John Galliano, Yves Saint-Laurent, Chanel and Versace and remains an international sex symbol. With her 5ft 9 inch stature, her blue eyes, brunette hair and fair skin, Mrs Sarkozy has all the requirements of a model.

Mrs Obama on the other hand, stands 5ft 11 inches tall, with an almost Amazonian stature and a jaw line not so dissimilar to James Brown. She lumbers as she walks and has the arms of a Russian shot putter. Her dress sense leaves plenty to be desired. The only model America’s First lady has any resemblance to is a model of SS Intrepid!

And of course, the only reason all these women now have a ‘beauty completion’ on their hands is because the world no longer has the yard rule by which previous first ladies, Queens, Princesses were measured, England’s Princess Diana.

Now there was a first lady in every sense of the word, poise, fashion, looks, serenity, style and of course her ability to fill a room just with her presence!

Lindsay Lohan Puffs Up Her Lips But Not Her Feathers In Debut Fashion Show!

This may be a premature prediction, but from what has been shown to date of Lindsay Lohan’s talent as a designer, its highly likely that she has entered yet another venture in which she will once again fail!

Who on earth told Lohan that she was a designer?

This week, at Paris Fashion Week, Lindsay made her debut as a fashion designer with her collection of, less than sophisticated designs, which she produced when she teamed up with French design house Emanuel Ungaro........three weeks ago!

With the show being staged at The Louver museum in Paris, where contemporary meets ancient, Lindsay also appeared to have based her designs on a culmination of old meets new as she told the waiting paps about her collaboration with designer Archs, 'We both love fashion, the different aspects, different generations, different styles from around the world, we like to mix everything up.'

And mixed up certainly seems to be the continuous thread that runs through the Georgia Rule star’s life having come through a drug addiction, countless disastrous relationships and a lesbian entanglemnet with DJ Samantha Ronson!

Taking to the catwalk herself, Lindsay wouldn’t have looked out of place in Paris’ red-light district of Pigalle, with her tight, white, short, cheap looking one shoulder creation and red heels, Lindsay looked anything but the ‘fashion designer’ she was trying to portray.

As President Mounir Moufarrige, who hired Lohan as 'artistic adviser' to attract younger customers, spoke of his approval of Lohan’s debut collection, another fashionista was more prepared to nudge closer to the truth when she commented, 'The best that can be said is that they tried.'

And although Lohan may not be in a position to puff up her fashion feathers with pride, it certainly looks like she's puffed up her lips somewhere along the way!
