Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, Karl Malden, Ed McMahon, Mollie Sugden.........

In a week where it's difficult to remember when there was a period of seven days that has seen the world losing more iconic figures than in the past week, we now hear of the death of Mollie Sugden, better known as Mrs Slocombe of Are You Being Served? fame!

First, last Tuesday we said a farewell to Johnny Carson’s side kick Ed McMahon. Thursday morning saw the parting of Charlie’s Angel, Farrah Fawcett, 62, after a 3 year battle with cancer, followed only four hours later by the stunning news of the sudden death of Thriller super star Michael Jackson at 50. Then Sunday morning we were greeted with the sad news of another sudden death, this time of Infomercial Pitchman Billy Mays who was just 50 years old.

And now today, Wednesday we hear that British TV sitcom star Mollie Sugden has passed away after a long illness, and according to her agent, said she had never recovered from her husband's death in 2000. A spokesperson for Mollie said, 'She had had a long illness and various problems but it was very quick in the end. Her twin boys were with her and she faded away. She was a lovely, lovely person and I never had any trouble with her. She was a great professional.' Sugden, who lived in Surrey, was married to fellow actor William Moore.

Then finally Karl Malden, the Academy Award winning American actor who’s career had spanned over seven decades, died today of natural causes at his home in Los Angeles's Brentwood neighborhood. He was 97 years old.

Although Karl had appeared in several classic feature films such as, A Streetcar Named Desire, On the Waterfront and One-Eyed Jacks with Marlon Brando, his best-known role was on television as Lt. Mike Stone on the 1970s crime drama, The Streets of San Francisco along with a very young Michael Douglas.

Buzz Aldrin: Original Moonwalker and Rocketman!

As the world mourns the passing of the person it believed was it's one and only ‘moonwalker,’ we’re here to tell you the real ‘moonwalker’ is still very much alive and kicking.

Yes, Michael Jackson may have moonwalked across many stages but the real moonewalker, Buzz Aldrin has shown us all that he may not be able to make giant leaps but he can still take those small steps as he appeared in a spoof video last week with Snoop Dogg and Soulja Boy.

In less than a month, we will be celebrating Neil Armstrong's "one giant leap for mankind", when he was the first man on the moon on July 20, 1969. But it’s his partner on that Apollo 11 space mission who has been in the news in some unusual ways.

The 79, year old astronaut released his rap single, Rocket Experience, last week and told USA Today, ‘I’m not too good at carrying a tune, but I do have rhythm.‘ The rocket man went on to tell the newspaper, that the money from the song’s iTunes sales will go to Aldrin’s ShareSpace Foundation, which promotes science and exploration, “I want kids interested in space. It’s their future.’

The single coincided with the debut of a new Aldrin autobiography, “Magnificent Desolation: The Long Journey Home From the Moon.”

There is a clip that celebrates the 40th anniversary of Aldrin’s walk on the moon, but it’s not all fun and games even if the idea of Aldrin rapping is pretty funny, Aldrin's main focus is trying to get young people involved in science and the mysteries of space exploration.

Farrah Fawcett: Gone But Not Forgotten By Ryan ONeal

The world seems to have quickly forgotten the death of the another huge American icon, this time from the 1970’ & ‘80s, Farrah Fawcett, amid all the grief, hoopla and speculation surrounding the death of Michael Jackson who died on the same day last week, just 4 hours after the beautiful blonde in the red swimsuit!

But as Michael’s father, Joe Jackson told CNN, he ‘has his tears on the inside’ as he meets and greet the press with smiles and laughter, there’s one person who certainly has no intention of forgetting the Charlie’s Angels beauty in a hurry, and that’s her fiancé, Ryan ONeal.

The Love Story star, at 68 years old, showed that his way of dealing with his grief was to hit the treadmill and work out his sorrow through a sweaty grey shirt. Unlike papa Jackson, the strain and grief of losing a person he loved shows on the face of the partner Farrah met in 1981, but never married.

Following the death of Farrah last Thursday at the age of 62, the man who stood by her in her three year battle with cancer, was spotted leaving a gym in Malibu a day ahead of the private funeral service that will take place on Tuesday at the Catholic cathedral Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles

Michael Jackson's Final Curtain Call!

June 25th 2009 will go down in history as one of the saddest days in Hollywood and in America in general with the passing of two of the world’s greatest icons, Farrah Fawcett, 62, and the king of pop, Michael Jackson.

Today will be one of those days when people throughout the world will remember where they were when they heard the devastating news of Michael’s totally unexpected death.

As with the sudden death’s of President John F Kennedy, singer Elvis Presley, the UK’s Princess Diana, actor Heath Ledger and glamour model Anna Nicole Smith, we can all remember where we were and how stunned we felt at the news. But along with these celebrities who died too young, Michael will be, in our memories, remembered ‘forever young’.

When Michael, 50, last appeared in public at London’s O2 Arena in March this year to announce his comeback tour which was due to begin in July 2009, he told his adoring fans, ‘This is it, this is the final curtain call’.

Little did the King Of Pop, Michael Jackson, know how prophetic those words would be!
